The new 2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is the latest Volkswagen sport utility vehicle to enter a crowded segment of mid-size SUVs. It shares its name with the Volkswagen Atlas three-row SUV, but the Atlas Cross Sport is a different model tailored for a different audience. Of course, it keeps the Atlas’s general upscale design and sporty performance, but the Atlas Cross Sport is more modern on the inside and comes with a long list of standard features.
The Atlas Cross Sport is luxurious and refined like the Volkswagen Atlas, but it’s also slightly more compact. It still holds over 1,000 litres of total cargo space but it’s meant for buyers who need a lot of space for cargo and not so much for more than 5 passengers. The rear seats and front seats in the 2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport are quite spacious, however, and will meet your needs.
Powering the 2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is either an efficient and powerful turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 235 horsepower or a proven and rugged 3.6-litre V6 with 276 horsepower. Both offer the power that buyers expect from a Volkswagen vehicle, with the turbo being slightly more efficient and the V6 being slightly faster. The new 2020 Atlas Cross Sport comes standard with 4Motion all-wheel drive, one of the most advanced systems available in Canada.
There are three versions of the new 2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport starting with the base Trendline model starting at $38,995. Despite being the base model, there’s still a ton of equipment in it including a Side Assist Blind Spot Monitoring system, 18-inch wheels, LED headlights, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Front Assist Braking. Other features in the Comfortline and Execline versions include a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, an 8-inch screen for the infotainment system, and so much more.
